Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who responded to the NESTRANS Aberdeen - Laurencekirk multi modal study! Over 1100 people gave their thoughts, and demand for rail in Cove and Newtonhill was heard loud and clear! In total, 1104 people responded, of that, 47% indicated they'd like a station in Cove, and 42% indicated they'd like a station in Newtonhill. Considering the study covered the entire area between Aberdeen and Laurencekirk, these numbers are a great result!
CNER will be contacting NESTRANS to discuss the study results and follow up on next steps, stay tuned.
For those who are interested, you can find the study here: https://www.nestrans.org.uk/documents/
The Scottish Government Strategic Transport Projects Review (STPR2) is due imminently. This document will give us a great indication of where the government stands in regards to North East rail projects, and is definitely one to watch. Following the publishing of STPR2 (and after Hogmanay), there will be a three week consultation period, we'll need your help again to boost the voice of the North East! Until then, have a great Christmas from all of us at CNER.
Keep one eye on us though, we may have a surprise coming very soon.
