Our campaign launched on 9 April 2021. All we had was our (now defunct) white paper and an email account. A petition gained 2000 signatures in less than a week, and a lot of media attention. Pressure began being applied to Holyrood candidates, and we were off!
Those of you paying attention will note that this is the same date as the unfortunate death of Prince Phillip. This stunted our launch and cancelled a lot of our media appearances, we also paused the campaign over the official days of grieving. Despite this, our campaign went from strength to strength, and we found rail connections were quickly becoming a topic of discussion and debate amongst candidates.
